At least twenty women are still on hunger strike at the U.K's Yarl's Wood Detention Centre in protest of what they call inhumane conditions, which they say contravene government rules.
According to a spokesperson from the Black Womens' Rape Action Project in London, "The women include survivors of rape and other torture as well as mothers separated from their children - criminalised for trying to survive. The impact of detention on children is finally widely condemned."

Members of the Black Women's Rape Action Project say that many women report suffering physical or verbal violence from guards. Some, they say, were left outside in snow storms on Monday wearing only light clothes.
The All African Women's Group, a self-help group of women asylum seekers, some of whose members are in detention, are part of a daily rota taking calls from hunger strikers.
